Biomedical Centre (BMC) of the LMU
The design concept for the BMC continues the guidelines of the campus as a whole, which is characterised by the use of high-quality ceramic brick elements, wood components and large-scale glazing. These themes are taken up here again and are reinterpreted. The colorful green-glazed facade elements were produced in a one-fire process in order to prevent crack formations in the glaze surfaces that could occur due to different temperature expansions in the case of a second fire.

The building is considered an invitation to communicate for its users and guests. The facades were designed in a correspondingly attractive and elaborate manner. Rare-ventilated, ceramic sheathing with rainscreen cladding give the building a special radiance in its external appearance and indicate the high level of use.
