Struenseestraße School Campus

Hamburg

Struenseestraße School Campus | Hamburg

The new Struenseestraße school campus is creating a striking educational hub in Hamburg-Altona. Two high schools, an elementary school, three sports halls, and spacious outdoor areas make up the new complex, forming an urban boundary along Königstraße. For the facades, the Rohdecan QuerfeldEins Architekten consortium, in collaboration with MOEDING, developed site-specific ceramic panels. On the street side, finely structured pilaster strips echo the motif of red brick, while on the courtyard side, green-toned ceramic surfaces provide a contrast. The custom-designed panels give the complex a sculpturally textured building envelope with a lively interplay of light and shadow.
