Residental building Salt at Westerpark West
Amsterdam
Westerpark West | Amsterdam
A former office complex has been transformed into a lively residential area in Amsterdam. The master plan, developed by MVRDV, covered 12 buildings and placed particular value on sustainable housing design. MVRDV designed five buildings itself for the new Westerpark West area. Among others, they took responsibility for the "Salt" building in the "Salt and Pepper" pair of buildings. It particularly stands out among the new buildings thanks to an impressive cantilever towards the city. A mix of three different shades of white gives the ceramic facade gentle movement. The linear design nevertheless underpins the clear design languages of the architecture.
