The new Hjorten Theater boasts an impressive ceramic facade in a vibrant red. The individually developed, glazed ceramic elements were used both on flat surfaces and on the rounded corners. The ceramic material refers to the tradition of Art Nouveau and interprets it in a contemporary way. The special wave-like shape of the ceramic tiles is reminiscent of the roughly hewn brickwork of the neighboring post office building - but these are concave instead of convex. In addition to the red ceramic, green patinated copper in the form of vertically profiled panels encases the curved stage tower. The result is a harmonious combination of sculptural form and material diversity.
