Comprehensive school Wasseramselweg

Comprehensive school Wasseramselweg | Cologne

The school on Wasseramselweg in Cologne, planned by v-architekten, forms a scaled prelude to the new educational landscape in Cologne-Meschenich with its differentiated structure. The green, vertically structured ceramic facade lends the clearly structured building a lively depth and creates a playful tension between materiality and function. The concept is based on the idea of a "school as a city", with clusters, inner courtyards and a central school street as a connecting element. The external design supports the orientation and identity of the various learning areas. The new building covers approx. 24,700 m² and meets high pedagogical, energy and urban planning requirements.
