Atlantic Haus
In terms of appearance, the new building of the Atlantic Haus was not to become purely a glass building. Inserted into a rather traditionally brick-characterised building environment, it was important to include tiles in the facade design here as well, but in a modern interpretation. ALPHATON® brick tiles from MOEDING, grooved in such a way that the horizontal joints are integrated into the overall picture in a manner that is barely discerned, were worked into the balustrades of the block building as a rear-ventilated system with rainscreen cladding. In agreement with the client, a high-quality design was thus developed that takes effect through unspectacular format means, includes historical material references in a current interpretation and also accommodates adequately the extreme climate conditions of its geographically exposed location.
