Alter Hof
In cooperation with MOEDING, Auer+Weber+Architekten developed a system for the renovation of the "Alter Hof" in Munich where illumination slots and roof surface glazing are integrated into the roof landscape by means of tile slats arranged above them, in such a way that a homogeneous appearance is produced. Here, the tile slat structure with MOEDING BAGUETTES extends both across the closed and the open roof sections, so that the appearance of continuous roof coverage emerges for the observer from outside, while inside pleasant zenith light provides for outstanding illumination of the flats. The design of the tile slats is based on the use of our BAGUETTES with a triangular cross-section that are threaded onto statically supporting stainless steel circular tubes and which were then, in turn, mounted onto corresponding sword structures in the roof surface.

The semi-transparent glass/tiled roof structure between the closed roof surfaces allows the daylight to penetrate deep into the roof space, thus ensuring an economical use of this area into the last nook and cranny.
