Public toilet facilities | A-Vienna
The construction of two new public toilet facilities in the historic Augarten park provided a solution that meets the requirements of modern infrastructure while also sensitively integrating into a listed environment. In close consultation with the Federal Monuments Office and MA 19 Architecture and Urban Design, the planners developed an architectural concept that respectfully complements Vienna's oldest Baroque garden. The facades of the two buildings are designed with ceramic panels in different formats – a lively interplay of proportion, surface and structure. The facility is supported by a steel substructure, which also allows for high-quality metalwork in the detailed design. Drinking fountains, seating and carefully planned pathways round off the newly designed area in Vienna's Augarten park.
