Akershus Universitätskrankenhaus Oslo

The technical floor of the new hospital in Akershus, as well as the six towers, which are also used for internal, vertical development, will be completed by forming their facades in volcanic gray ALPHATON® tiles with baguettes integrated into the overall design, so that they signal a harmonious unity together with the other building functions of the entire complex. The materiality of the facades is basically assigned to the functions or uses of the house, but as a connecting element superimposed by a volcanic gray, curtain-type terracotta facade made of tiles and baguettes by MOEDING.

The large-area brick-walled facades of the technical towers are additionally separated by pre-hung curtain walls made of baguettes. This creates depth and at the same time makes the towers, which push themselves so powerfully into the functional areas, into a part of the common ensemble.
