The new psychiatric building at Tampere University Hospital comprises 13 wards on three floors with 182 single rooms and 2 double rooms. When planning the building, particular attention was paid to the ease of maintenance and durability of facade materials. The surface consists of a combination of ceramic tiles, baguettes, bricks and aluminium-glass walls. In front of the large window elements, the MOEDING baguettes serve as both, privacy protection and design element. The lamellar structure of the ceramic rods is also continued in the closed surfaces by using ceramic tiles in a special format. This ensures a harmonious and uniform facade.
